The iconic game of Monopoly has launched a fun new Phuket edition in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Produced by Winning Moves UK with the official Hasbro license, the Phuket edition of the classic board game was conceptualised to promote tourism within the Kingdom and will feature various Phuket landmarks, hotels, and regional attractions.
The game was officially launched on 19th March in Central Phuket via a giant replica of the board game. Even Mr. Monopoly himself was there to play a few games with visitors. The launch offered a first real look at the locations featured, making it as easy as ever to travel all around Phuket from the comforts of your own living room. Expect to see attractions like Phuket Old Town, Kata Beach, Phromthep Cape, Sarasin Beach, the Coral Islands, The Nai Harn resort, and Central Phuket. If you’re a good player, you can try to own all the best properties Phuket has to offer.
Winning Moves UK have really tried to convey the charms of the island destination by swapping out the original tokens for fun beach themed tokens. As Phuket is a major tourist destination, they represent your typical tourist on holiday. The six tokens include a suitcase, a pair of sunglasses, an umbrella, an ice cream cone, one sandal, and what looks like an attraction brochure.
Available to purchase from the 28th onwards, you can buy it from Phuket Card Shop, D6 Wargaming Phuket, Berda Claude International School Phuket (BCIS), The British International School, The Nai Harn, Como Point Yamu, Blue Tree Phuket, and Carnival Magic Phuket. The game will also be available through online merchants in the UK and Australia.
