Veena Praveenar Singh, the first Thai-Indian to ever win Miss Universe Thailand, has now made history again by finishing as First Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2025.

Aside from making Thailand proud, her achievement has also deeply touched the Thai-Indian community, who finally see someone who looks like us and shares our roots on one of the biggest stages in the world.

Her journey has caught international attention, especially after her strong performances across Bangkok’s major events.

What many people don’t realise is how persistent she has been: Veena competed in the national pageant three times before finally winning the Miss Universe Thailand crown, and now she has achieved global recognition on the Miss Universe stage.

She is Born in Chiang Mai to a Thai-Indian family, spending part of her childhood in Yala, and later growing up in Bangkok, carrying both cultures with sincerity and pride.

She has said that even though she didn’t grow up speaking Hindi or Punjabi, she still honours the Indian traditions and religion passed down through her family, while also loving and living Thai culture fully.

Before her Miss Universe Thailand triumph, she said, "If I do everything with intention and work hard, I can achieve anything I want.” And she’s shown how far dedication mixed with identity can take you.

Congratulations, Veena. You made history, and you made us proud.
