NEW EATERY
Tucked along the storied banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok’s Old Town, Hansa River House breathes new life into the historic Songwat neighbourhood. Once a bustling trading hub during the reign of King Rama V, Songwat is experiencing a revival. It houses charming Sino-Thai architecture, curated cafés and boutiques, and, now, this elegant riverside restaurant. Set within a lovingly restored wooden house that once served as a fishery, Hansa pays homage to generations past, particularly Khun Pa Hansa, whose legacy inspired the space. The menu celebrates Thai-Chinese family recipes, with dishes like Crab meat lon and Green curry chicken served against a backdrop of sunset views. Reservations are essential, with bookings required two days in advance.

NEW HANGOUT
On the hunt for a new weekend spot? Let Radicle Beer Company top your list. This freshly minted craft beer joint in Onnut brings a refreshing mix of frothy pints, zingy cocktails, and satisfying bites to the table. While Bangkok’s post-lockdown food scene is brimming with sleek newcomers, there’s something comfortingly nostalgic about a classic pub—one that conjures memories of uni nights, casual gigs, and clinking glasses over hearty plates. Radicle taps into that charm with its own twist, offering a curated selection of Thai and international brews like Thong Pradit and Franziskaner Naturtrüb, all on tap. Their cheekily titled “Pub Food” menu is equally compelling, with dishes like the Beef curry on toast, featuring slow-cooked beef in a rich tendon curry, blending old-school comfort with refined flavour.
