Amritsar Journey: Thai-Indians Discovering Heritage & Hospitality

By: Ayush Madan and Gurdev Singh

Our Amritsar journey was more than just travel. It was a story of Thai-Indians, especially Thai Sikhs, reconnecting with faith, culture, and history. From the spirituality of the Golden Temple to the patriotic fervour at the Attari-Wagah Border and the Punjabi spirit at Sadda Pind, we experienced the perfect blend of tradition and modernity.

Hospitality elevated the trip. Le Meridien Amritsar, located opposite the airport, offered authentic Thai food at Asian Bistro, a true taste of home away from home. Elgin Hospitality welcomed us with style: Lord Elgin Bar’s cocktails, Grain by Elgin’s Mediterranean-Indian mix in a chic co-working vibe, and the unforgettable Kulfa at Pappadh.

This is Amritsar, a city of pride, devotion, and flavours, where history and modernity walk hand in hand.
