Missing Derry Girls (2018–2022)? Still bummed that Halloween lasts only one day? Netflix’s latest offering, The Body, is here to remedy that.

Set in an all-girls Catholic school, this eight-episode series follows a group of girls after a dance team initiation goes horribly wrong. If you’re suddenly flashing back to high school drama productions of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, you might not be wrong.

Showrunner Quinn Shephard says she was inspired by Y2K classics like Jennifer’s Body (2009), Carrie (1976) (2013), and even Mean Girls (2004).

For obsessive fans of 2000s television shows, an unexpected crossover arrives on Netflix. A Christmas romantic comedy starring WB/CW-veteran Jared Padalecki, whom you may recognise from shows like Gilmore Girls (2000–2007) or Supernatural (2005–2020), and our favourite Gossip Girl (2007–2012) Queen B, Leighton Meester.

The pair make an unlikely comedic duo as a famous superstar (Padalecki) and his bodyguard (Meester) who must fake a relationship for the holiday season but find themselves in a pickle when the feelings turn real. Oh B, haven’t you learned your lesson? XOXO…

Directed by Oscar-winner Graham Moore, The Altruists follows the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX. The show stars Anthony Boyle and Julia Garner of Inventing Anna (2022).

There is something exhilarating about being on the edge of your seat for the duration of a particularly well-made (and well-acted) whodunit. In case you’ve been missing your fix of crime thrillers, Netflix just dropped a new one starring Manoj Bajpayee and directed by Neeraj Pandey of Special 26 (2013) and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) fame.

The suspense thriller follows a morally grey and ambitious cop who is stuck between doing what’s right and his personal gain.
