Savour the tantalising flavours of Australia’s favourite all-day café, THE COFFEE CLUB.

By Christy Lau

Fewer things in life are as enjoyable as an appetising brunch over the weekend, and no establishment understands this fact better than THE COFFEE CLUB, Australia’s largest homegrown café, which has been attracting diners for many years thanks to its mouthwatering range of breakfast and brunch offerings, available all day long.

Their latest branch at Singha Complex continues to stay true to the brand’s ethos. Flooded with plenty of natural lighting coming in from floor-to-ceiling glass windows, THE COFFEE CLUB exudes a laidback ambience which plays well into the café’s sharing concept.

A modern black and white colour scheme tempts diners in, punctuated by lush foliage, making them feel right at home. Staying true to its roots, the eatery keeps things casual with wooden tables and chairs, great for groups of two to four people who desire a proper meal or a quick coffee break. For no matter your age or background, dining at THE COFFEE CLUB makes for a memorable any-day-of-the-week brunch experience.

Food and Drink

Taking inspiration from the latest food trends around the world, THE COFFEE CLUB’s new superfood-packed menu features avocados, quinoa and baby rocket. It’s fresh, fun and the perfect response to the brand’s tagline: “Where will I meet you?”

First up, we tried the chef’s specials, which included smashed avocado with poached eggs and bacon (B280), tantalising our vision with its multi-coloured hues, great for an Instagram update. As you would expect, the eggs are beautifully cooked, giving way smoothly under the cut of our knives and forks. They provided the perfect contrast to the crunchy bacon rashes, making for an indulgent but healthy breakfast dish.

The café proves the versatility of poached eggs with its next dish, Poached eggs on wok-fried greens with red quinoa and sesame dressing (B260). What sets this dish apart isn’t just the unusual pairing of vegetables but the luscious sauce itself, which proves that healthy food doesn’t always have to be bland and understated.

For a cleaner meal, try the Power bowl (B330). This Instagrammable treat contains grilled cauliflower, pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, spinach, avocado and specially imported baby rocket from Australia. Based off New York’s food fad, the idea is to put together a variety of healthy staples, giving you a balanced and nutritious meal.

For a meatier option, try Tuna nicoise and pesto (B360), which elevates the classic French salad with a tuna steak drizzled with a rich, nutty pesto sauce. It’s another example of a hearty and healthy meal that will leave you with a comforting, home-cooked feeling.

Following the latest coffee trends, THE COFFEE CLUB offers their very own range of the extremely popular Nitro Cold Brews. These chilled beverages are infused with nitrogen, giving the caffeinated drink a creamy, smooth texture, as well as a frothy head. The Singha Complex branch is the first of the chain to serve them, giving you more reason to drop by for a mid-afternoon refresher. The Sticky Rice Mango Cold Brew (B140) is a specialty brew, where the much-loved dessert is slowly uncovered with every sip. Then there is the Lemon Granita Nitro Cold Brew (B165), which balances out the earthy coffee base with a zesty semi-frozen granita. Finally, looking every bit as elegant as you would expect of a rose-infused beverage, the Lychee Rose Nitro Cold Brew (B165) has a tea base with aromatic fruity and floral notes, tempting you to linger here for a second serving.
