Adhura (Prime Video)

Indian filmmakers have a knack for producing some wonderful thrillers for streaming platforms, with an already impressive list on Netflix. But Amazon Prime Video has thrown their hat in the ring with its original Adhura, starring Ishwak Singh and Rasika Dugal. This supernatural thriller is set at an elite boarding school that hides a very dark and dreadful secret, which inevitably shakes the very foundation of the institution and everyone connected to it. This will be an interesting watch as it becomes Amazon Prime Video’s first Hindi horror series.

The Trial – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha (Disney+ Hotstar)

It’s become the norm to watch A-list movie stars take their shot at television shows. Kajol is no stranger to it, as she stars in the new series, The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. Based on the popular series The Good Wife, starring Julianna Margulies, Kajol plays the lead role of Nayonika Sengupta, as she faces a trial by fire when her family is rocked by a scandal. She must now defend her family, both in and outside the court of law. Release Date: 14 July 

Knock at the Cabin (Prime Video)

Released earlier this year, and one of the better films by M. Night ShyamalanKnock at the Cabin may not have been the top draw at the box office, but it is definitely a must-watch on a streaming platform. This horror/mystery is a story about a family’s vacation going awry when they encounter intruders, leaving a sense of suspense and dread that will keep your eyes glued to the screen. Alongside a few familiar faces, you’ll also appreciate Dave Bautista’s great performance, showcasing his hidden versatility.
Release Date: 25 July

The Lady of Silence: The Mataviejitas Murders (Netflix)

The general audience’s strange obsession with serial killers continues and will remain perplexing for many reasons, yetThe Lady of Silence: The Mataviejitas Murders may become another intriguing case for viewers to dive into. Mexico City has its first serial killer in the shape and form of a tall and strong figure that has been passing off as a nurse to earn victims’ trust. Even more bizarre? The main suspect is Juana Barraza, known in the lucha libre scene (the world of Mexican wrestling) as “The Lady of Silence”. And she had 40 murders to her name – this series that follows them is sure to be a nail-biter!
