Sabina Tripathi on Reprogramming Thought Patterns and Our Inner Stories
There are moments that thread themselves into our lives.
They settle quietly in the folds of our minds, leaving faint footprints across time, resurfacing in ways we rarely notice.
Whether it’s a childhood memory, an old heartbreak, or something as fleeting as a remark made on a Thursday in the second grade, our subconscious holds on, quietly shaping how we move through the world.
The mind, it seems, is a silent archivist.
In a world increasingly aware of how mental well-being intertwines with physical health, work, and relationships, exploring the subconscious feels more vital than ever.
American trance medium and lecturer Cora L.V. Hatch once said in 1859, “You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.”
To unpack the intricate realm of the subconscious mind and its influence on areas of life like parenthood, Masala sat down with Sabina Tripathi, a Licensed Rapid Transformational Therapy® Practitioner, Hypnotherapist, and Parenting Expert.
At her lovely home, Sabina welcomed us with warmth and curiosity, and together we delved into the quiet language of the mind.
Tell us about your journey into therapy. How did you come to specialise in Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT), hypnotherapy, and parent coaching?
I chose therapy and mindfulness because I wanted to do something truly meaningful that could ease people’s emotional and physical pain without relying on medication.
Early in life, I realised I had a gift for reflective listening. Friends and family would naturally come to me with their struggles, and I found joy in guiding them.
At that time, I wasn’t professionally trained, but the seed was planted.
After completing my MBA, I built a successful career as a banker, training head, and business school faculty. But my heart was searching for something deeper: my true purpose.
That clarity came when I was introduced to The Art of Living and meditation.
This path led me to Marisa Peer’s Rapid Transformational Therapy®, where I trained and certified as an RTT® Practitioner and Hypnotherapist.
Discovering RTT® was transformative; it showed me how quickly and permanently change is possible when we work with the subconscious mind.
To support families more holistically, I also pursued parent coaching through The Jai Institute of Parenting in the USA. This allowed me to combine therapeutic healing with practical parenting tools, drawing deeply from my own experience as a parent.
I was blessed with triplets, and that changed my perspective about life in general. I learned a lot in my parenting journey. My kids teach me a lot, and I wanted to equip myself and others with conscious parenting tools through parent coaching.
You have a background in corporate training and people development. How has that experience shaped your perspective, and does it influence the way you work with clients today?
My corporate career with Royal Bank of Scotland, American Express, and private banks in India taught me valuable lessons about leadership, motivation, and human behaviour, especially the pressures of high-performance environments.
Today, I integrate those insights with RTT®. The structured strategy from my corporate background blends seamlessly with the subconscious healing of therapy.
This unique combination allows me to guide clients with both clarity and compassion, helping them unlock their hidden potential and move toward a life filled with meaning and fulfilment.
What are some of the biggest misconceptions people have about therapies like RTT®, hypnotherapy, or parent coaching?
One major misconception is that hypnosis means losing control, or worse, becoming “stuck”. In reality, hypnosis is a natural state of deep focus and relaxation.
You remain aware, alert, and in control the entire time. It’s not mind control, nor is it mystical.
We slip into hypnosis every day, like when we’re fully absorbed in a film or driving on a familiar route. RTT® simply uses this natural state to reach the subconscious mind for healing.
Another misconception is that therapy is only for “serious” issues. In fact, RTT® works beautifully for everyday challenges of confidence, fears, habits, and performance blocks.
As for parent coaching, many think it’s about “fixing” parents. But really, it’s about empowering them with empathy, self-regulation, and tools to navigate modern parenting challenges such as screen dependency, binge-watching content, lying, social anxiety, bullying, or peer pressure.
The goal is to strengthen communication and connection between parents and children, especially in today’s Gen Z and Gen Alpha context.
How do you cultivate confidence and resilience in clients who have been disappointed by past attempts at therapy or self-help?
I start by honouring their past efforts—it takes courage to keep trying.
Then, I explain how RTT® goes deeper than symptom management. It uncovers the why behind their struggles and reframes it, which creates powerful breakthroughs.
Marisa Peer teaches that: “understanding is power.” When clients understand why they feel or behave a certain way, their confidence and resilience naturally return.
RTT® often delivers results in just two to three sessions, even for issues like anxiety, phobias, infertility, or chronic pain.
I also guide clients using the Rules of the Mind:
• Your mind does what it thinks you want it to do.
• It always moves you from pain to pleasure.
• It responds to the pictures and words you install.
• You make your beliefs, and then your beliefs make you.
When people truly grasp this, they realise how much power they have to transform their lives.
How does parent coaching differ (or overlap) with therapy for the parents themselves?
RTT® often helps parents heal their own unresolved wounds and inner child triggers, while parent coaching focuses on practical strategies for empathy, communication, and emotional regulation.
The combination is powerful. Parents learn to respond calmly rather than reactively.
They stop relying on punishment, threats, or constant incentives. Instead, they connect through respect and understanding.
The outcome? Calmer homes, stronger bonds, and healthier communication between generations.
What advice would you give someone who is curious about RTT® or hypnotherapy, but nervous about losing control or being vulnerable?
I reassure them that RTT® is not about surrendering control. Instead, it’s about gaining clarity and freedom.
You remain conscious and in charge the entire time. Vulnerability in a safe space isn’t weakness—it’s the doorway to transformation.
To put it simply: hypnosis is a way of accessing the subconscious mind so clients can release unwanted patterns and accept empowering new beliefs.
It bypasses the critical, conscious filter so lasting change becomes possible.
For someone who’s never been in therapy or is hesitant, how would you describe what a typical session with you looks and feels like?
A session starts with an open conversation to understand the client’s goals and challenges. Everything is confidential, and honesty is encouraged.
Then, using RTT®, I guide the client into a deeply relaxed yet fully aware state.
Together, we work like detectives—following the symptoms and habits back to their root cause.
Once we uncover it, we reframe and transform those limiting beliefs.
The session concludes with a personalised transformational recording, designed to rewire the subconscious and create new neural pathways.
Many describe it as magical because they finally understand why they’ve been struggling for so long.
Looking back, what has surprised you most about your work with clients? Were there any moments that gave you hope, or shifted your understanding of human resilience?
What continues to surprise me is how quickly people can heal once they’re given the right tools. RTT® can bring about results in just two or three sessions, even after years of suffering.
One client came to me with corporate burnout, depression, and sleeplessness. Through regression, we uncovered deep childhood trauma.
The root cause was never her job, but about not feeling lovable or valued by her parents.
Once she understood this, everything shifted.
Stories like these reaffirm my belief, and Marisa Peer’s teaching, that people are not broken. They simply need to release limiting beliefs and rediscover their own resilience.
