Lord of the Flies (Netflix)

This beloved book assigned to classrooms around the world is receiving its first television adaptation. Lord of the Flies follows a group of pre-teen British schoolboys who are stranded on a deserted island and how their struggle to govern amongst themselves descends into chaos and savagery. Fun fact: Lox Pratt who stars in this will also essay the iconic role of Draco Malfoy in the upcoming HBO “Harry Potter” series.

Release: May 4

Off Campus (Prime Video)

It seems as though ice hockey is all the rage lately. After the success of Heated Rivalry (2026) comes another adaptation from the ice rink. The first installment in the “Off Campus” series follows the unlikely campus romance between the hockey-hating music major, Hannah Wells and the womanising campus hockey superstar, Garrett Graham. The first season will follow the tropey “opposites attract” cliche as these college students transition into adulthood.

Release: May 13

Spider-Noir (Prime Video)

Nicolas Cage is back! This time as an alternate universe Spiderman in 1930s New York. Spider-Noir trades glossy spandex for shadowy streets and follows an older, more weary Spider-Man as he attempts to untangle the web of corruption in New York. What’s cool about this Sony-backed series is the fact it is available in two formats. You can watch it in black-and-white and in a colourised version.
