On June 12, 2025, India launched Kruti, an AI personal tool specifically designed for Indian users. Kruti understands 11 Indian languages and is tuned to recognise Indian voices. So instead of the usual “Sorry I didn’t get that” from Siri or Alexa, Kruti simply gets you.
Furthermore, Kruti is trained to read smart Indian documents like the Aadhaar card and matches every city’s style: techy Bangalore, speedy Mumbai, and formal Delhi. While Kruti is currently India-based, its launch reflects how AI is becoming more localised.
Kruti does more than just answer your questions. It is actually designed to help them get things done for you. The application allows users to book a cab, order food, and pay their bills. Want a ride to the airport or mall? Ask Kruti, and it interacts with Ola’s backend to book it instantly via voice or text. Kruti can order your regular lunch or dinner for you. It integrates with ONDC and other services to fulfil the order within chat. From power bills to card payments, Kruti handles it all securely and saves you money.
In short, Kruti basically handles everything from interaction to execution without you having to switch apps. It acts like your personal desi secretary who takes the load off your work.
Kruti also has memory, which means it gets more personal the more you use it. It remembers in two ways: short-term and long-term. Short-term memory is task-focused. For example, if you’re booking a trip, Kruti keeps track of your cities, dates, and hotel details until you’re done. No need to repeat yourself mid-conversation. Long-term memory learns your preferences over time. It remembers that you love vegetarian food or that you prefer morning flights. Next time, it suggests these automatically—so you can skip the small talk and get straight to what matters.
Kruti’s platform and SDK will soon be open to developers. This means businesses and creators can build their own agents directly inside Kruti. From finance and health to education and even custom workplace assistants, the possibilities are endless. Companies will be able to design AI that serves their employees or customers, all within Kruti’s ecosystem.
