The Thai Sindhi Association Reaffirms Leadership

Mr. Deepak Sajnani has been reinstated as President of the Thai Sindhi Association following its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 11 January at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Bangkok.

This decision confirms the continued leadership of the President and reflects members’ confidence in the current committee.

The AGM also approved the formation of an additional sub-committee made up of younger members, signalling a forward-looking approach while maintaining the association’s established foundations.

Nikorn Sachdev Announces Political Candidacy

In the most recent national election, Nikorn Sachdev announced his candidacy as a Party List Candidate for the Kla Tham Party (พรรคกล้าธรรม), a populist political party in Thailand.

Known for his business background and longstanding involvement within the Thai-Indian community, he is regarded as bringing a practical and grounded perspective to national politics.

He currently serves as Executive Director of the Indian Association of Thailand and Executive Director of the Indian Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC), where he has been closely involved in community engagement and economic collaboration.

Indian-Thai Sports Day Brings Back the Heat

Yearning for a little friendly competition? Indian-Thai Sports Day 2026 will take place on 29 March at the Chulalongkorn University Sports Complex, bringing together members of the Thai-Indian community for a day centred on teamwork and sportsmanship.

Organised by the Indian Association of Thailand, the annual event aims to foster togetherness through sport while celebrating community spirit.

The programme is expected to feature a range of activities, including track and field competitions, cricket, and other team sports that encourage participation across ages and communities.

India Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC) Presents the Holi Songkran Fiesta

As the new year commences, it ushers in colourful, water-filled celebrations.

The Holi Songkran Fiesta 2026 has been scheduled for Sunday, 8 March, and will take place at the ITCC located in Sathorn Soi 1.

Open to the public, the fiesta promises a vivacious programme designed to emphasise the shared spirit of Thai and Indian cultures, blending the colours of Holi with the water-filled traditions of Songkran.

Attendees can expect a convivial atmosphere of music, traditional elements, food, colour play, and water activities.

Holi Boat Party Sets Sail Once More

This Holi, celebrations move onto the water with the Holi 2026 Boat Party set for 14 March at Bangkok Island.

The event will offer an evening of music, entertainment, and celebration, with a programme that features a high-energy lineup of DJs and live percussion.

The outdoor deck will host the main dance area, while the indoor space is set to include Bollywood karaoke, open for all guests to sing their hearts out.

Entry tickets will be available, along with table options designed for both intimate groups and larger parties.

Masala Wedding Fair x Food Festival Returns

The Masala Wedding Fair x Food Festival is back and set to return to Bangkok on 6 to 7 June at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park.

Known as Thailand’s largest Indian wedding and food festival, the event brings together over 100 curated booths, including bridal and groom fashion from leading designers, luxury jewellery, and a diverse selection of gourmet Indian cuisine.

The team at Masala is pleased to announce that booth bookings are now open, inviting brands and vendors to be part of the upcoming edition.
