IndiGo launches two direct flights to Krabi from Mumbai and Bengaluru
Flying to Krabi has just gotten a lot easier for Indian travellers residing in tier-1 metro cities, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Krabi International Airport recently welcomed the budget airline’s inaugural direct flight 6E1085—an Airbus A320—from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Tourists were greeted with a warm welcome—a Thai cultural performance organised by the airport and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Acting Krabi Airport Director Suksawas Sukwanno lauded the move, highlighting it as a step forward in boosting tourism in Krabi and southern Thailand by offering Indian tourists a direct link to the country’s beloved Andaman coast. As of now, IndiGo operates two direct flights per day on the Mumbai–Krabi route, in addition to its existing Bengaluru–Krabi service. The flights will run from March 30 to October 26.
India extends visa-free entry for Thai nationals
Thai nationals can now enjoy an extended, hassle-free stay in India this year. The Indian Embassy recently announced an extension of visa-free entry for Thai tourists, a decision aimed at balancing tourism and maintaining reciprocity. This move follows a steady increase in the number of flights between Thailand and India by 7,000 seats per week on average in 2025. The free e-tourist visa enables Thai passport holders to stay in India for up to 30 days and includes the option for single or double entry. The visa needs to be applied beforehand from the official website and is typically granted within three to five days.

Additionally, two boutique luxury properties under the newly introduced Dusit Collection brand—in Kasol and Manali (both with 40 rooms)—will offer refined escapes in the Himalayan foothills.
