The Masala Wedding Fair, now merged with the Masala Food Festival, is right around the corner, taking place on the 14th and 15th June at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. Whether you are searching for your perfect wedding dress, a dream destination, or to gorge yourself on the delicious food that will be available, this two-day event is the perfect space for all your needs.
The Masala Wedding Fair, just like a big, fat Indian wedding, is incomplete without live entertainment. The intoxicating melody of the drum beats coupled with the melodious voice of the singers of all our favourite songs urge our tapping feet onto the dance floor. It wouldn’t be a proper party without it.
Spanning across the two days of the festival, there will be a few key artists that you can expect to hear from on the main stage, performing some hip-shaking and soul-swaying hits worthy of a grand desi celebration.

ROULETTE
Roulette is a nine-member jazz-funk band from India. The three female lead singers, Nidhi, Pallavi, and Apoorva, effortlessly bring back the cool retro glamour of yesteryears. These classics won’t be exactly as you remember them since the talented band that accompanies the singers twists evergreen Bollywood classics into their own funky style. Most recently, they released an enticing mashup of two big band classics: “Aaiye Meherbaan” and “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu”. Absolutely swaying! We caught up with Roulette to get to know them a little better.
What inspired you to go retro? What are some of your favourite retro songs?
Retro is a genre enjoyed by all age groups, and most evergreen songs come from the retro genre. We were inspired to create something new for the audiences, and combining old songs with elements of funk music felt fresh. Some of our favourite retro songs are “Aaiye Meherbaan”, “Neele Neele Ambar”, and “Aao Huzoor Tumko”.
What is the best part of performing for you?
To be able to perform alongside talented and versatile musicians never gets old, and experimenting with old and new music to create something unique and refreshing.
