Our Fukrey producer duo Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have produced yet more comedy gold, titled Hello Charlie, and let us just tell you that this film is guaranteed to crack you up. Directed by Pankaj Saraswat, the plot of Hello Charlie follows protagonist Chirag Rastogi, aka Charlie (Aadar Jain), who is transporting a gorilla named Toto from Mumbai to Diu after he was assigned to do so. Simultaneously, billionaire M.D. Makwana (Jackie Shroff) attempts to escape from Mumbai dressed as a gorilla. As you can guess, Charlie ends up transporting the wrong gorilla. This upcoming madcap adventure-comedy will also star Shlokka Pandit in her debut role as a small-town girl, and Elnaaz Norouzi as a model.

DAD STOP EMBARRASSING ME! (NETFLIX)

Loosely based on Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx’ real-life relationship with his daughter Corrine Foxx, who also serves as executive producer, this upcoming series revolves around the story of a single dad working as a cosmetics brand owner, who is figuring out fatherhood as his determined teenage daughter Chelsea (Kyla-Drew) moves in with him. Created by and starring Jamie himself, this series is one comedy lovers shouldn’t miss, so sit back and enjoy his return to his sitcom roots.

SHADOW AND BONE (NETFLIX)

One of Netflix’s favourite genres is fantasy, and Shadow and Bone is the newest addition
to their collection. Though this upcoming live-action take is an adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s fantasy-adventure book series of the same name, the show will be markedly dissimilar to the novels, as it adapts two overlapping Grishaverse series: Shadow and Bone, and Six of Crows. Set in a fictional imperial Russia, the plot follows a young soldier, Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), unearthing an occult power which has the ability to unite her country, all while menacing forces attempt to subjugate her. If shows like The Witcher and Fate: The Winx Saga tickle your fancy, this one’s for you.

Release date: 23rd April

THINGS HEARD AND SEEN (NETFLIX)

This upcoming horror-thriller is based on the Elizabeth Brundage novel All Things Cease to Appear, and revolves around the story of a couple, Catherine (Amanda Seyfried) and George Clare (James Norton) moving from Manhattan to a rural town where unanticipated and malevolent events begin to unravel. A talented young artist, Catherine soon discovers that their marriage has sinister darkness that rivals their new home’s history. For all the horror fans out there, this is a must-watch for you.
