SHIDDAT (DISNEY+)

Following the success of Hindi Medium (2017), Stree (2018) and Luka Chuppi (2019), filmmaker Dinesh Vijan is releasing Shiddat, a modern love story. The film stars Sunny KaushalRadhika Madan, Mohit Raina and Diana Penty as the main protagonists, with Madan playing Kaushal’s love interest and Penty portraying Raina’s. Filmed in Paris and the United Kingdom, the plot consists of parallel storylines focusing on the journeys of the two main couples. Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, the film was supposed to premier in 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic and will now premiere digitally on Disney+. Romance is a timeless genre, so romance fanatics, make sure to put this movie on your watch list!

LEGO STAR WARS: TERRIFYING TALES (DISNEY+)

Disney+ is releasing a Lego-themed Star Wars movie, adding to its already impressive blockbuster library. Starring Jake Green, Raphael Alejandro, Tony Hale, Christian Slater and others, Terrifying Tales follows Poe DameeronBB-8, and plucky mechanic Dean as they are sent on a hair-raising tour of Vader’s former fortress on the volcanic planet of Mustafar. Being part of the Star Wars brand, you can expect plenty of action-adventure, fantasy violence, and moderately creepy thematic aspects, especially since the movie is coming out just in time for Halloween. Watch this movie to get the spooky festivities started!

LITTLE THINGS SEASON 4 (NETFLIX)

Released in 2016, Little Things is an Indian romantic comedy series featuring Mithila Palkar and Dhruv Sehgal as the main leads. The plot centres on Kavya Kulkarni (Palkar) and Dhruv Vats (Sehgal), a Mumbai-based couple in a live-in relationship. The series progresses with everyday life explored through conversations between the couple. Season 4 will consist of eight episodes and will start up where Season 3 left off, which was very different from the prior two seasons as due to their career opportunities, Dhruv and Kavya were compelled to enter a long-distance relationship. This is exactly what you’re searching for if you’re a rom-com enthusiast!

SARDAR UDHAM SINGH (AMAZON PRIME)

Be prepared for Vicky Kaushal’s latest avatar of an independence hero, Sardar Udham Singh, a role he’s taking on after gaining widespread praise for URI: The Surgical Strike (2019). The film has been waiting for a theatrical premier for over 15 months, but will now see a digital release during the Dussehra weekend. For those unfamiliar with the man at the centre of the movie, the Shoojit Sircar directorial is a biopic on Sardar Udham Singh, the revolutionist who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940 to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. A great pick for families this holiday season!
