Maya Restaurant and Bar reveals its 15-course taste menu with its “pay as you please” concept.

Restaurants around town must continue to innovate at a steady pace to keep returning customers satisfied, both with their appetites and their pockets. Maya Restaurant and Bar, which is located on the 29th floor at Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit, knows this all too well as they recently introduced their “Pay as You Please” 15-course taste menu. After you’ve completed the course, you decide to pay the amount you believe was worth the experience. We had the pleasure of revisiting Maya for this intriguing new concept. We must admit, we had a generous number in mind once our evening came to an end.

The ambiance, as always, was classy, and the appropriate plating of each dish followed suit. We were pleasantly surprised by how each bite-sized item delivered a substantial punch to the tastebuds, reminding us of desi home kitchens led by our mothers and their traditional family recipes. Let’s not forget Maya’s amazing signature cocktails to get you started for an incredible meal ahead. The restaurant takes pride in providing the lavish spread of a buffet or a more personalised route with its brilliant a la carte options.

Sharing a table with our peers, we figured these tasty bite-sized items wouldn’t last long, leading us to believe we’d have to have a proper meal afterward. From the mouth-watering Chicken cigars to the menu’s Sweet ending dessert (which was to die for), we were floored by how delicious each item turned out to be. And rest assured, we were full and fat by the end of the meal. While there were clear favourites, such as the Minced lamb burger and the Paneer Tikka Trio, each item on the menu complemented the next. No dish felt, nor tasted, out of place.

Not only is this menu worth it, depending on how much you want to fork over, but it is highly recommended that you experience it if you wish to capture the essence of what Maya has in store, as it continues to improve and innovate its culinary offerings. So now, apart from a wonderful panoramic view of the city, you have 15 more reasons to visit Maya and indulge in its culinary splendour.
