Padmavati mires in controversy as the film comes closer to its release date. A growing number of people are protesting against the film and resorting to violence to ensure that no distorted facts about Queen Padmavati should be shown. Over 200 members of a Rajput group barged into a mall in Noida, India and warned cinema owners to not screen the film or else they will burn the theater. Ministers from Haryana too joined the list, seeking an immediate ban of the film, saying that “Nobody is allowed to distort history and wrongly present facts. This will not be tolerated.” Several actors including Salman Khan and Aditi Rao Hydari have come out in support for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Neil Nitin Mukesh too supported the film and said, “the director has the right to present his perception and creativity before the audience. There should be freedom of speech and creativity.”
Will Padmavati be banned?
