Varun Dhawan and long-time fiancé Natasha Dalal‘s wedding festivities begin today, with the official ceremony scheduled for this Sunday, the 24th of January. According to reports from Indian-based media outlets Pinkvilla and Bollywood Hungama, the couple are hosting their five-day festivities at The Mansion House in the vacation town of Alibaug, nestled on the outskirts of Mumbai, India, with guests staying in several of the villas encompassing The Palm Court, The Cove Room, and The Sky Deck Room. For those who miss the grand celebrations, the couple will also be hosting a Mumbai-based reception in due time.

Rumours of the couple tying the knot have been rampant since last year when news broke that Varun and Natasha were planning to get hitched in either Vietnam or Thailand, but due to the limitations presented by the pandemic, the couple decided to put their wedding planning on hold. The couple are considered ‘childhood sweethearts’ as they’ve reportedly known each other since sixth grade and have been dating for a few years now.

The wedding celebration will have a highly restricted guest list due to protocol that’s been introduced to curb the spread of COVID-19. However, many of Varun’s friends in the Bollywood circuit are expected to attend, including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, Khushi Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Aamir KhanKaran Johar, Arjun Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor will also be in attendance and are expected to perform several dances.

The secrecy around the wedding has made fans all the more hungry for a glimpse at the private affair, but according to ETimes, Varun’s father, filmmaker David Dhawan has requested the public for his family’s privacy, going so far as to ask the staff and those working at the wedding venue not to use their cellphones in the vicinity. Whether or not his plea will stop anyone from leaking photos from the celebration, we’ll find out this weekend.
