Gone are the days where finding purely vegetarian or vegan restaurants in the city went literally against the grain. Now, plant-based options are popping up like mushrooms, with mushroom for more. With Navratri and Tesagan Gin Jae coming up this month, we’ve curated a list of eateries that’ll make keeping veg soy very easy.

Nature’s Charm Café
The story of Nature’s Charm goes all the way back to 2014, when they created and started selling the world’s fi rst sweetened condensed coconut milk. Now that they’ve opened a café, you can also go coconuts over their Instagrammable walls and décor. Head on down to Nature’s Charm Café, which was founded with the intention of re-creating classic dishes from minimally processed, plant-based ingredients – without compromising on flavour. Their signature Nature’s charm fish & chips is a must-try, encapsulating the restaurant’s ethos and highlighting their creativity. Likewise, their Chick’n pop & slaw with mash is a unique take on comfort food staples, going to show that with enough determination and talent, anything can be vegan-ised.

Veganerie
Self-styled as “the ultimate vegan destination in Thailand,” Veganerie boasts over 150 plant-based menus that are sure to leaf nothing out, from all-day brunch, to burgers, pastas, smoothie bowls, and our personal favourite, desserts. Pop by any of their multiple branches throughout Bangkok, including their newest concept in Sukhumvit Soi 11, to try their signature V-baked cheese spinach casserole, or any of their sweets that will have you going bananas. We recommend the Fruity delight waffle with vegan ice-cream for a berry sweet time.

When you’re craving Italian fare but want to avoid meatier options, make sure to try out Govinda, a long-established Italian vegetarian eatery in the heart of Phrom Phong. From homemade breads, to all your pasta favourites, to 20 varieties of pizza, any meal there is sure to leave you satisfied while contemplating the pasta-bilities of your next meal. For mushroom fans, we recommend the Porcini risotto, while their house special spinach Ravioli is, in our opinion, not to be missed.
